Babcock International continues tothink about Canadathrough its ongoing commitment to invest and support Canadian technologies, dynamically driving innovation and the application of new technologies in the marine, aviation and nuclear energy sectors.
Recently, Babcock invested in EXO Insights that leveraging our virtual reality, machine learning and biometric technology capabilities to create a safe and hyper-real training experience that allows workers to rehearse critical tasks.
EXO Insights has worked closely with Cavendish Nuclear to develop a Hand-Arm Vibration (HAV) Measuring Prototype, a device that can be worn by a power tool operator and precisely measures the level of exposure to HAV experienced due to tool usage - a mandated safety requirement of many industries. This technology improves the monitoring accuracy of HAV measurements and provides immediate feedback to operators while strictly observing safety regulations and reducing workplace injury.
Across Babcock sites, many workers may be subject to HAV risks. This new tool is an effective way to improve their work productivity and, above all, their health and safety.
